God’s Got Your Back

 From Rebecca:

I left off last time telling you about a seemingly impossible situation concerning a dance piece I had prepared to perform at a large conference, and how the piece was in disarray only hours before performance time. For a variety of reasons beyond my control, the piece hadn’t come together as nicely as I had hoped during the rehearsal process in the months prior to the performance. Even at the last dress rehearsal, my dance partner dropped me out of a lift, the other dancers were not executing the choreography correctly, and things were in high tension amongst everyone. It was a mess. I saw little hope for the whole situation. So I prayed asking for God to help, as I was strongly considering pulling the piece from the evening program. Praying was the right thing to do. I felt a soft peace come over me which I knew was from God. I just felt that God was in control of this whole performance; that He wanted it to go on; and that He was going to work all of this together for good, even in the face of adversity.

So, I let things continue as planned. I met with my dance partndance 6er right before the performance, and made amends with him. Everyone involved in the piece got together to pray before we went on stage. All in unity, we had no choice but to trust God. Then we went on to dance what turned out to be one of the best performances I’ve ever done. As a group, it was also the best time we had ever danced that particular piece. No surprise….God was involved.

You see, God took over and honored my trust in Him. He majorly blessed all of us, including the audience, with a truly powerful dance performance. Not able to accomplish it on my own, God stepped in to save the dance. All in all, I have to say it was an awesome experience, one I’ll always remember. God helped me to handle that whole situation, because He promises to do so.  I know this is a minor issue in the scheme of life, but with God, this same concept applies to all circumstances, big or small.

I don’t know about you, but, this is exactly why I want God to be #1 in my life, and right by my side through everything. I know as long as God is there, He’ll make sure I end up OK.  Even so, sometimes when I’m going through a difficult situation, it can indeed be hard to feel like God is there with me in the midst of the storm. That’s where trust comes in. That’s where I have to constantly remind myself that He IS there, and He WILL, without a doubt, make things turn out alright.

Getting back to our Unconditional Love concept, isn’t this exactly what God’s U Love is all about?  It’s His being there for you, guiding and protecting you through everything.  The last part of the U Love definition says, “Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

I love that word “always.” Sometimes I wonder what part of “always” we don’t understand?  “Always” means God is doing all of those things for us ALL THE TIME! And, if love never fails, that means that God never stops protecting us, helping us, persevering with us, hoping in us, and loving us……so that there will be NOTHING that we can’t handle together with God.

Does this give you a confidence booster or what? How great is it to know that the God of the universe is your helper in all situations every day? That could make you feel like you’re on top of the world! In  conclusion, remember this day that….”There’s NOTHING that’s gonna happen today that you and God can’t handle TOGETHER.”  And, in the sentiment of Tony the Tiger, have a grrrrreat day!!
